Have you ever wanted to learn to sing, but were afraid to try? Although natural talent exists, most people have to work at singing! Vocal technique can be learned, much like learning to ride a bike or driving a car. YOU can build a pleasant singing voice through consistent, focused study.
Susan Anders Brizick has been teaching people to sing for over twelve years and specializes in the healthy care and production of the voice with students of all ability levels. Susan has her M.M. in Voice Pedagogy and Voice Performance from Westminster Choir College, Music Education Certification from West Chester University, and B.M. in Voice Performance and Psychology from the University of Richomond. In her studio, Susan emphasizes the importance of proper breath support, posture, and healthy vocal care to help her students build singing voices that will last a lifetime. Specialized attention is given to each student's individual needs from finding a free singing tone to establishing confidence while singing.
Her work with both healthy and injured voices is unique with a firm foundation from her pedagogical study and her time spent observing and working with voice specialist, Margaret Baroody, of the Voice Foundation. Susan has helped students who developed pathological abnormalities with their vocal folds to find their true, healthy singing voice again. She has also taught students who have experienced tensions in their singing voice to find release into a free, relaxed sound. A compassionate and motivating teacher, Susan can help you to discover the beauty of your singing voice and the courage and joy from sharing your music with others.
Susan is a full member of NATS, an active member in the Voice Foundation, and the Classical Singer Community. She has worked with men and women ages 12 and up, in all styles including musical theater, rock, jazz, classical, and opera. Whether you have professional aspirations or just want to have fun, Susan can help you build the skills you need. She has thorough knowledge of classical technique and can teach you how to apply the principles of healthy vocal production to every style of music while avoiding the pitfalls. If you love to sing, but are afraid to sing in front of others, want to be in the school musical or community theater or want to build more confidence in your singing abilities and want to fulfill your dream to sing well, give voice lessons with Susan a try.
Do you know of someone else who would like to sing? Give the gift of voice lessons to yourself or someone you love.
