Hello! My name is Amanda Ramey, and I'm a violinist from Dayton, Ohio. I graduated in 2009 from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, where I earned a bachelors degree in violin performance as a student of Dr. Julian Ross. While at Baldwin-Wallace, I was concertmaster of the Baldwin-Wallace Symphony Orchestra during its 2008-2009 season as well as the principal violinist of the l(a Contemporary Music Ensemble from 2007-2009. In 2006-2007 I was the concertmaster of the Euclid Symphony Orchestra in Euclid, Ohio.
As a student at Baldwin-Wallace, I taught violin classes in 2006-2009 to students in grades four through eight at William Cullen Bryant Elementary School in Cleveland, Ohio as a part of an string teaching partnership sponsored by Baldwin-Wallace College, The Cleveland Orchestra, and the Cleveland Municipal Schools. I also worked as a chamber music coach in the Brunswick City Schools in 2008 and 2009. I was a violin and viola instructor at the Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory Outreach Department in Berea, Ohio, and at the Music Workshop in Strongsville, Ohio from 2008 to 2009.
Currently, I'm pursuing a master of music degree in violin performance at the University of Colorado at Boulder where I study with Lina Bahn. I serve as concertmaster of the Niwot TImberline Symphony Orchestra. I'm a founding member of the Anasazi Quartet which formed at the University of Colorado. The quartet is involved with community outreach in the Boulder area with performances and teaching at Boulder High School in Boulder, Colorado and Westview Middle School in Longmont, Colorado. I'm engaged as a volunteer sectional and chamber music coach in the Jefferson County Public Schools and the Lakewood School District.
I love working with students of all ages! I am accepting students in both Boulder and Jefferson counties.
