I accept children as students.
$40.00 per half hour, $80 per hour, Case by Case for in your home.
I have 30 plus years of experience in teaching many different types of students. In 1981, I finished my Masters Degree in Piano Performance at San Jose State University in California.
I enjoy having a variety of students and at the present have some adults who are learning to improvise. Some are beginners, and some, more advanced.
In contrast to that, I always enjoy teaching children and do tailor my teaching program to each students' favorite kind of music. However, I do also encorporate the music of the Masters to supply that classical foundation that might ultimately prepare students to be qualified to major in piano in college, should they wish to pursue a degree in music.
I have done a lot of accompaning and casual popular playing (Nordstrom Department Store) as well as being a guest artist on a college concert series. I have played for instrumentalists, and the most satisfying position I've had is that of a pianist at a Eurythmy 4 year Dance School, where the dancers dance to classical music, which included many 'chamber music' performing experiences with other musicians as well as the dancers.
Each student is given a variety of pianistic experiences and I hold several recitals per year. Performing in recitals is not mandatory for everyone, but the opportunity is there.
Most of all, I have fun teaching and it is the love of my life.
Remember, the first encounter/assessment is free and we go from there.
I look forward to hearing from you to schedule your first appointment.
The only prerequisite is that you love music and are willing to practice.
I am willing to teach at the student's residence.
