My bio

Hello, my name is Jessica D'Elia and I am a recent graduate of the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. While my primary instrument is clarinet (played for over 13 years) I also play tenor saxophone (10 years). I also play bassoon, flute, and trumpet, but have not listed them as I do not own all of them. As per my degree, I am qualified to teach beginning lessons on all traditional band instruments (woodwinds, brass, and percussion) in addition to musicianship skills. I am skilled in music theory and specialize in 20th century theory (matrices, serialism, 12-tone, set theory) for those at a more advanced level.

I have been teaching privately for over two years now and my students have achieved membership in Junior Regions and All-State Bands. I have taught for the last few years in a local Summer Music Program as the clarinet teacher and an assistant band director.

Please e-mail me if you wish to see a full resume and credentials.
