Soprano Linda McNeil has been a member of the music faculty of Trinity University since 1988, where she teaches voice, opera workshop, and American Musical Theater. She received the B.M.E. degree from West Texas State University, the M.M. degree in vocal performance from Baylor University, and the D.M.A. degree in vocal performance from Arizona State University. With a wide-ranging repertoire from Baroque oratorio to German lieder to opera to jazz and musical theater, Linda specializes in the performance of contemporary song, and has worked with such notable composers as George Crumb, Samuel Adler, Jean Berger, Judith Zaimont, and Libby Larsen. Many of her San Antonio students have received leading roles in musicals, top rankings on their UIL solo and ensemble performances, and been accepted to many prestigious universities. She has recently released a CD, Songs and Cycles by American Women Composers.
I teach all levels of students from beginner to advanced, 12 years to adults.
The first lesson is free and a time for us to get to know each other.
Singing should be fun, stimulate the imagination, build lifelong healthy patterns of posture, breathing, and vocal production.
Laughter and a positive attitude are an absolute must.
