My bio

Krista McClellan is an up-and-coming lyric soprano from Alexandria, Virginia. Krista is currently studying for her Masters of Music at Brigham Young University, where she will be performing the role of Giulietta in the October production of "Les Contes d'Hoffmann", by Offenbach. A 2009 alumna of Boston University, Krista sang the title role in the Boston University Opera Workshop's February production of Purcell's "Dido & Aeneas".

In the masterclass setting, she has worked with notable opera stars including Cynthia Munzer, Claude Corbeil, Jerry Hadley and Simon Estes.

She was a participant in Ann Baltz's OperaWorks Emerging Artist Program in Los Angeles, an intensive program incorporating a mind-body connection through means of daily musical coachings, acting classes, yoga, Alexander Technique, Masterclasses and stage movement, to name a few. In June of 2007, she had the opportunity to perform the role of Bernardo in Pergolesi's "La Conversione di Guglielmo" at the Festival Geminiani in Tuscany, Italy. The three special performances were sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Follonica, Tuscany, and commemorated the 850th anniversary of the death of San Guglielmo.

Opera scene credits include Musetta (La Boheme), Semele (L'Egisto), Marzelline (Fidelio), Elisetta (Matrimonio Segreto) and Marguerite (Faust).
