Harmonious.ly was launched in Fall 2009 to help music teachers and students find each other. Our mission is to make it easy for music teachers to create their home on the Web, and easy for students to find the best teacher for them.
Harmonious.ly is a product of Broken Chord Media, LLC. Broken Chord Media is based in Silicon Valley, CA, and is:
Katia Hayati (katia@harmonious.ly). Prior to founding Broken Chord Media, Katia worked on local
search and advertising technologies at Microsoft, Tellme Networks
(acquired by Microsoft), and Yahoo!. She sings Soprano II in the Masterworks Chorale at West
Valley College in Saratoga, CA. Katia holds a Master's degree in
Computer Science from UC Santa Cruz and a Master's degree in
Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Rob Starling (rob@harmonious.ly). Prior to founding Broken Chord Media, Rob worked on local
search at Microsoft and Tellme Networks (acquired by Microsoft). He
also worked on community web applications at AOL. Rob played the
tenor saxophone throughout college in the Duke marching band, and
later in the Stanford marching band. More recently Rob started
studying guitar at Foothill College. Rob holds a Bachelor's degree
in Electrical Engineering from Duke University.
